Woodham Burn Community Primary SchoolWelcomeNewsletter 18th May 2012Newsletter 18th May 2012 Jubilee Party Lunch: We are having a Jubilee Celebration Day on Thursday 31st May. Children are invited to come to school in red, white and blue and to enjoy a party lunch in the hall with their friends. Please would you help make this a success by allowing all children, even those who normally bring a packed lunch, to have school lunch that day? Payment of £1.50 to cover this should be made to Mrs Wilson asap. Jubilee Stationery for sale: Available from the school office, mementos including pencils, rubbers etc. Class Photographs: Friday 1st June. Everyone back in smart school uniform for these! Cookery Club: Cookery club sessions have now finished after another successful year. Mrs Robinson would like to say a big ‘thank you’ to Mrs Bowman and Mrs Martin, also all children and parents for their support of this successful initiative. Thank you also to Mrs Robinson for all your hard work too! Wet Weather: We have been asked to clarify our policy for outdoor play during rainy weather. We will keep children inside when it is raining hard but if it is not too wet we will always go out to make sure children are accessing fresh air and exercise during the school day. Please ensure that children come to school each day with clothing suitable for this. Children are allowed to bring umbrellas to school if it is wet but these will not be allowed on the playground during the school day because of health and safety implications. Whoops…! Apologies for the lack of a newsletter last week. I know that many of you were looking out for it. Hopefully we have included everything of importance today. Next Friday: Don’t miss our end of term performance by Y3 and 4 based around the Diamond Jubilee. Children should come to school dressed with a red, white and blue theme. There will be a cake stall after the performance for parents to buy from, and we would also like children to bring in 50p too if they would like to buy a cake. Cakes will be available to children during the morning break. Tea, coffee and scones will also be available after the performance. Cakes Wanted: We need your donations of cakes for the stall next Friday. Please bring them into school on Thursday or early on Friday morning. Easter 100 Square: This has been so successful it has sold out already. Thank you very much for all your contributions and for purchasing the tickets. Important Note: After a recent family assembly we were informed that a parent had taken photographs and published them on ‘Facebook’. Please can I remind everyone that the school policy is that any photographs taken must be for a parent’s own use ONLY and MUST NOT, in any circumstances, be put on to an internet site that can be accessed by a wide circle of others. Please make sure you follow this policy because if not, we could be obliged to ban the taking of photographs or videos, and that would be a shame for everyone! Mrs Wilson has asked me to remind you again that ALL DINNER MONEY SHOULD BE PAID ON MONDAY AND SENT INTO SCHOOL IN A NAMED ENVELOPE! Please can we do this to avoid wasting time?
