Values and Ethos Statement
Alongside the Trust Values (Lingfield Education Trust), the following Values were developed by the children (2023) and have been agreed by staff and governors as key principles that underpin all the work of the staff at Woodham Burn Community Primary School and Nursery. We follow British Values in our everyday work. We collaborate with the wider community to meet these Values:

School Ethos Statement
At our school, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to thrive in a nurturing and inspiring environment. We are committed to fostering a culture where:

-
Resilience is built through encouragement, reflection, and perseverance in the face of challenges.
-
Teamwork is celebrated as we learn and grow together, supporting one another with kindness and collaboration.
-
Caring is at the heart of all we do, creating a safe and inclusive space where everyone feels valued.
-
Learning is a lifelong journey, and we empower children to be curious, creative, and confident thinkers.
-
Independence is nurtured through opportunities to make choices, take responsibility, and develop self-belief.
-
Equality ensures that every voice is heard and every child is given the chance to succeed, regardless of background or ability.
-
Respect guides our relationships, encouraging empathy, understanding, and appreciation of others.
Together, we strive to build a community where children flourish as individuals and as part of a caring, respectful and resilient team.

Our children really wanted everyone to be able to remember our school values so the children decided that assigning an animal to a Value would help this. The children designed the animal pictures, our Chair and Vice-Chair of governors decided which were the best designs and then we asked a graphic designer to turn our ideas into reality.
